Busy time on the Food Network this weekend with the premiere episodes of not one but two new cooking shows; plus new episodes from both newer shows and old favorites.
First on Saturday is the premiere episode of Ask Aida with "cooking expert Aida Mollenkamp prepares delicious dishes while solving Food Network viewers' culinary conundrums in her new interactive cooking show" according to the Network release. The great thing about Aida is she's been doing web videos at Chow.com for three years now. So we know she's good in front of the camera and knowledgable.

Tomorrow, want some non-primetime Iron Chef meets Top Chef? How about a bunch of your favorite tv cooks on the tube together in one place? Then Friday's 'Oprah' is a don't miss.

More than just a scratch-my-back I'll-scratch-yours agreement, the partnering of T.G.I. Friday's with the Food Network's new Ultimate Recipe Showdown is the tip of the iceberg. And according to Multichannel it's part of Scripp's Network "360 degree" marketing.
Scripps, you may or may not know, is the parent media giant of which the Food Network channel is a part of. Along with the TGIF tie in. Food Network is also doing one with Ingrid Hoffman, host of FN's single Latin-oriented cooking show Simply Delicioso who is cobranding with Frito-Lay.
