Tyler Florence vs Ingrid Hoffman vs Curtis Stone on Tomorrow’s ‘Oprah’

    Posted on May 8th, 2008

Tomorrow, want some non-primetime Iron Chef meets Top Chef? How about a bunch of your favorite tv cooks on the tube together in one place? Then Friday’s ‘Oprah’ is a don’t miss.

From Tyler Florence’s own site: “Cheer on Food Network’s own Tyler Florence and Ingrid Hoffmann as they face off in the first-ever Oprah’s Sandwich Showdown on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show.’ Together with TLC’s [Take Home Chef] Curtis Stone, each celebrity chef is paired with an Oprah viewer (and die-hard fan) to see who can cook up the best sandwich. Watch as the teams develop delicious recipes while working against the clock, and then…the moment of truth as Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi declares a winner with the help of her fellow taste-testers Oprah and Gayle King.

FN’s Multimedia Marketing: First Friday’s, now Fritos

    Posted on March 1st, 2008

More than just a scratch-my-back I’ll-scratch-yours agreement, the partnering of T.G.I. Friday’s with the Food Network’s new Ultimate Recipe Showdown is the tip of the iceberg. And according to Multichannel it’s part of Scripp’s Network “360 degree” marketing.

Scripps, you may or may not know, is the parent media giant of which the Food Network channel is a part of. Along with the TGIF tie in. Food Network is also doing one with Ingrid Hoffman, host of FN’s single Latin-oriented cooking show Simply Delicioso who is cobranding with Frito-Lay. Or as Multichannel calls it: “finds herself on 150 million bags of Tostito tortilla chips”.

Hmm, no mention of their Christmas cookware promotion with Kohl’s. Guess that’s old news.
