TV Chefs Blog is where we cover the celebrity chefs and cooking personalities: the news they make, the new products they sell, the restaurants they're opening. We also review the television cooking and food shows. We report on the more famous food authors and their new cookbooks too. If it has to do with eating it, making it and the star cooks who do it, it's here.
Last night on Hell’s Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay had the contestants debone a chicken and gave them two minutes to do it in. Which, some did fine, while others — ahem, Craig! — with more than a dozen years under their belts of kitchen experience — did a horrid job of it.
With that in mind, it’s time to bring in the master. Why, sure, Gordon did it in roughly a minute. But here is Martin Yan deboning a chicken in 18 seconds.
Found a very nice feature article on legendary chef Martin Yan entitled “Yan Still Can” by Associated Press writer Michelle Locke. Get this though. It’s Yan’s 30th year on television. Huh? No way. Yes way!
And he shows zero signs of slowing down. Besides his new television series on PBS, Martin Yan’s China which began airing in Janaury, he also opened a new restaurant in San Diego just over a week ago.
Btw, the article also ends with two Yan recipes: one for Shrimp Tulips and the other for Ginger Garlic Baby Bok Choy.
